For the first time ever, the Jews of Ulyanovsk experienced a five star Seder in the restaurant "Baku". Everyone was served hand made shmura matzah from Israel and four glasses of fine kosher wine. The grand meal included salmon, beef, lamb and chicken. Everybody followed along in their user friendly hagadda. The commentaries and lively songs made everyone feel part of the event.
Preparations began exactly four weeks before Pesach.
Calls were made to community members inviting them to our grand Seder and explaining the laws of Pesach. They were encouraged to come to the community center to buy Matzo and other products needed for Pesach. Each box of matzo contained a sticker with the minimum amount of matzo, wine and morar one must eat. In addition, people were given clear instructions on how to perform the Seder at home.
In the mail, everyone received instructions how to prepare their home for pesach and a Seder instruction sheet. All the prayers and instructions of how to do the passover seder was only on one paper!
