We recently completed our fourth annual "Great Winter Shabbaton". Over 70 men, women and children enjoyed three days of learning, lectures, workshops, Farbreingens, and "ask the Rabbi" sessions.
The theme of the Shabbaton was the deeper meaning of the Jewish holidays. This included a comprehensive course on the Kabbalistic meaning of every single Jewish holiday and some practical tips on how to keep these holidays.
The attendees all enjoyed a full fledged shabbos program. For many this was their first or second shabbos in their lives.
Leisure included: swimming, gym, snow sports, and a tour of the city of Talyatti.
A special program was arranged for children with games, stories, and competitions. We also had a special program for our teenagers, together with teens from Penza and Talyatti.
Like every year, this Shabbaton concluded with a large banquet. The banquet included competitions, dance, and karaoke.
The Jewish Center of Ulyanovsk would like to thank our many donors. Without them, this would not be possible.
