The Jewish Learning Institute of Ulyanovsk has launched it's first course in Talmud for begging named "You be the Judge". The course is taking place every Thursday for 6 weeks in the conference hall of hotel “Volga”.
The first lesson named “Honor among Thieves”." were Rabbi Yosef introduced participants to the legality of immoral contract according to Talmudic law!
The participants were divided into pairs, were explained the concept of ownership in the Talmud, which proves the logic of honoring an illegal contract! students were presented with various cases after which they were split into pairs to debate their opinions on each case, after which two students were called up, each representing (acting as advocate) the party they agree with, after which Rabbi Yossi - the Judge - presented the Talmudic view on this issue!
It turned out that the participants were as active as Yeshivah students, strongly debating the various cases, with each holding strong to their personal opinion!
