A new board was established for the benefit of financing the community. With the beginning of the world wide economic crises, it became obvious that the only way our community can have a future is if we fundraise locally. Our Chazal tell us, "kol hasscholois koshos" - "All beginnings are hard". Of course, it is very hard to establish a community in this city, and it's even harder to get the very few people who have some money to donate. (That is a very new and strange concept over here).
The new board is called "the board of trustees". It includes a number of local businessmen. Mr. William Vroochtil was elected as the president of the board. The first project they plan to take upon themselves is to renovate the Jewish center, beginning with making a kitchen, dining hall, bathrooms, and fixing up the hallways, classrooms and offices.
William? first Russian I've heard with that name.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up.
