Purim in Ulyanovsk

Not withstanding the financial crisis, the Jewish community of Ulyanovsk managed to celebrate Purim this year with a wide array of programs for all ages. The main event took place in the Philharmonic and was attended by over 100 people. The evening started with the reading of the Megillah by Rabbi Yossi Marozov. After Megilah reading everyone enjoyed a special purim Shpiel performed by the Jewish youth club "Mishpacha", followed by a concert by the famous Jewish band "Simcha" from the neighboring city of Kazan.
In Shul the next day the crowd heard the megillah and began to celebrate with lots of Lichaim.
A separate Purim event was arranged for the youth, the next evening with lots of song and dance.
